In Puerto Rico and Puerto Ricans in the states, the best musicians for the genres of salsa, guanguanco, bomba y plena, has to be Ismael Rivera, Maso Rivera, Hector Lavoe, Cortijo y su combo, Rolanda Laserie, Tito Puente, and Ramón Rivera. For Cubans, La Lupe, and Mongo Santamaria come to mind. There songs are absolutely beautiful! You can't even concider their music songs, but jounries into pure bliss. Just write down their names at Audio Galaxy (http://www.audiogalaxy.com) and download their music.
My favorite are De Colores, Boogaloo, Mañana es Domingo, Mi negrita me espera, Borinqueneando, and Calispo, Bomba y Plena by Ismael Rivera
Salsa Caliente by Tito Puente.
Pura Teatro, Fever, Destino Cruel, La Reina, Pa'lante Pa'tras, Dominique, and Se Acabo by La Lupe.
Cascaracatiski by Ramón Rivera.
Meta Rumba, Watermelon Man, and Timbales y Bongo by Mongo Santamaria.
Peregrino de la paz, and La Chinita by Maso Rivera.
