View Full Version : Rage Against the Machine are the best

RATM is the best activist band. I saw their underground video and that was very cool. It invites us to resist the government and start the fire. The video also encourages us to support the rebel groups and to join the incoming war between our recent government and the guerillas.

Man I agree, RatM, Kicks ass. I was listening to their first album and man that thing makes me feel like going out and changing the world. I have to say one of the most profound lyrics is the end of one song saying this,
("FUCK YOU, I WONT DO WHAT YOU TOLD") Thats the real deal, going against the machine by not doing what they say. Im pumped just thinking about it.

raztro,
thats what i said until i heard that theyre bringing Chris cornell from soundgarden. Fuck yeah, bring in the grunge, kick out the rap shit. Zack was awesome though, regardless of whether or not he was a rapper.
the band won't have the same messages anymore :(

RATM, RATM, RATM, well, well, well where do I start.

Great ideas, you all know that, but they are hypocritical.

Millionaires, Morrello has two servants at his house and likes V8's 'cos they give him power.

No shit, they are THE revolution in music and my and thousands of peoples lives, they make us think differantly and take up cause but don't be illuded by the smoke screen. These guys like thier dough and spend it.

I don't want to cop shit from you guys cos thanks to them I am into Zapatistas, Mumia and of course CHE but the honesty and truth that was bleeding from self titled died......sorry.

They were going to play with Chris Cornell for the Ozzfest this year but they dropped (much to my dissatisfaction) because Chris left.

But, LOL, I once read an article about RATM that said that they were first quoted as sounding like a cross between Public Enemy and Soundgarden, so then if they would of kept Chris Cornell, they would of sounded exactly like Soundgarden (which would be far from a bad thing but extremely low on the originality scale). According to that, they should get Chuck D to do the vocals to maintain their old sound.

Do you know that Zack of RATM was now a full time guerilla? He only told the media that he formed a new band in order to hide his rebellion. We can all see that Zack is a good example for a freedom fighter. Im a guerilla but i work in the city. Guerillas are not all in the mountains. I organize people for the victory of the movement. If we could just inform all the people about our recent problem, we can make a change because only few people are aware of this. Most of the people are influenced by the media.

Zack's gone solo, his new album is coming out sometime this year (apparently) and I think Brad Wilk is doing some solo work too.

Yah, well whoever said tom morello has 2 servants, obviously has mixed up information...... oh well.

RATM are an excellent thing to happen, and zack HEAVILY funded the zapatistas, thanks to him, they have all the arms they need.

I think the album of chris + ratm - zack is coming out soon, even though they were only together for 1 year.

Zack is now really revolutionary, but i dont think he will abandon the world of music forever.....

ernestodekam
13th May 2002, 08:27
Get with it guys, don't be jaded by what you see in the media or whatever.

Morello does have servents in his house.

They are one of my favorite bands but I don't let that get in the way of the truth, which does hurt.

I love them, great lyrics, the best political propaganda in terms of success, but they aren't angels.

If the man pays his cleaners, baby sitters, cooks, etc, fare wages and treats them well then what is wrong with that? Nobody said anyone with left-wing ideas had to be poor, and if the man does happen to have some money i can see no shame in it that he employs people aswell.
Actually, thats quite a socialist idea. The man has money so he is providing employment for people - nothing wrong with that.

I'm getting so bored with these discussions anyway. I dont beleive Tom Morello does have servants, he doesnt even have a guitar worth more than a few hundred dollars.

yah, well i heard some of the civilian stuff, and its not so good, its on the net now and the album might still be released even though cornell left. they were only together for one year... oh well. Zck is like a full time guerilla now, he is working with the Zapatistas, once he does whatever he has to do there, once he sorts out his priorities, who knows, maybe hell rejoin... only time will tell.

I never mentioned rebel music. To be honest, if you only listen to music that's "rebellious" then maybe you're listening to it for the wrong reasons.

I wasn't being serious anyway, I just merely suggesting that you learn up on music...
