Sorry, I have a High Fidelity-esque obsession with making lists (I'm talking about the excellent book by Nick Hornby here, not the crappy Hollywood adaption where John Cusack makes an arse of himself). So, come on then people, the ten best albums of the 1990s:

ME:
1. RADIOHEAD - OK Computer (1997)
2. NINE INCH NAILS - The Downward Spiral (1994)
3. TOOL - Aenema (1996)
4. REFUSED - The Shape of Punk to Come (1998)
5. NINE INCH NAILS - The Fragile (1999)
6. SLIPKNOT - Slipknot (1999)
7. ALICE IN CHAINS - Dirt (1992)
8. RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE - Rage Against the Machine (1992)
9. THE PRODIGY - Fat of the Land (1997)
10. DEFTONES - Around the Fur

I agree with all of them.

But I'll forgive you for forgetting:

Pearl Jam- Ten (1991) :)

OK Computer is ok, but you should listen to the album "Illmatic" by Nas because it is about living in the projects and just "around the way" shit. Some leftist stuff: refering to housing project police as "Hitlers." You wouldn't think it would be such a great album, since he has dropped the ball on every album since then, including "stillmatic."

Mmmmm, in the list you all put Ten higher then Vs. of Pearl jam, but in my opinion Vs. is better then Ten. Ten is a little bit over produced, they really were going for the best they could do on the album and I think Vs. is more laid back, little louder and in my opinion better then Ten.

Sorry everyone, but I'm a big Latin American music freak and I'm not so into rock like ya'll, but here's mine. I may edit later, but this is how I see it right now:

1. Buena Vista Social Club Presents Ibrahim Ferrer – Ibrahim Ferrer (1999)

2. A Toda Cuba Le Gusta – Afro Cuban All Stars (1997)

3. The Score – Fugees (1996)

4. Miseducation of Lauryn Hill – Lauryn Hill (1998)

5. [Putumayo Presents] Cuba – Various (1999)

6. Live – Erykah Badu (1997)

7. Embrya – Maxwell (1998)

8. Dummy – Portishead (1994)

9. Red Hot on Verve- Nova Bossa – Various (1996)

10. Tidal - Fiona Apple (1996)

Honourable Mentions not in any particular order:

Baduizm – Erykah Badu (1997)

From the Choirgirl Hotel - Tori Amos (1998)

Tricky – Angels With Dirty Faces (1998)

When the Pawn... - Fiona Apple (1999)

Voodoo – D’Angelo (2000)

[Putumayo Presents] Arabic Groove - Various Artists (2001)

I know the latter two are not from the 1990s, but they are sick awesome.

What's his new video? You may be thinking of "hate me now" from a few years ago. In his new video he takes part in a township rebellion in Africa. He mentions Che and Patrice Lumumba on his new album.

Sasafrás
28th April 2002, 06:13
Yeah, and he's got a Che button on his shirt in the "One Mic" video (The one with the rebellion) as well..

IzmSchism
28th April 2002, 15:42

I don't remember exactly what it said, but inside the Lauryn Hill album cover (from Miseducation) Che Guevara was mentioned somewhere. I'll check when I'm not too lazy to drag my ass across the room.
