View Full Version : Subjects for leftist songs?

A few of my mates have started a band, they are called oddity. they all have pretty leftist views and have done a couple of leftist songs.

The thing is, there wasnt much point in writing leftist songs before, becos the only place they could perform was some shitty club that wouldnt let them play ANY leftist stuff. But that has changed now, they are playing at a better club, that lets them play wot they want, and has more "publicity".

so, they asked me to ask you guys if u had any ideas for some subjects for the songs. They said that they would let me post the lurics for u guys to see if u do give any suggestions, and apparently ALL are welcome!

They do have website, but it aint very good at the mo, dont tell them i sed that! they have a couple of mp3s but the stuff aint leftist from wot i remember, and the only have one set of lyrics up at the mo. And also u mite aswell not bother with the forum, becos it is just filled with petty arguments between folk at our skool.

oh dear, i think my fingers have kinda ran away from my brain! I typed alot more than i thot i would. Never mind, hope this makes sense to u guys.

EDIT oops, forgot to put it the link:

Yea, i know its not hard. But the thing was they wanted to see how u lot would write down the ideas, and hopefully that would give them some inspiration.

They said its easy to find subjects and write songs about them, but if u dont have inspiration it has no feeling or passion. U get my drift?

So they thot that the way u wrote it down mite help for some reason

Why do we honour person from the past or being that we cannot see..... /
Were are todays heroes, have they died on the battlefield or are there just none. Crumbles by the sights of society I wouldt care to take the name of hero on me too. Were are todays heroes.....?
Have they been crumbled by the capitalist society, was there to muche veil to fight or just afraid to even rescue this world from todays society........? Were are todays heroes ?

yea, the guys registered the site with cjb.net cos its free, and all u have to do is put up with pop ups.

me and soph(carnicolf) are gonna probably buy a web domain. Cos i have found them pretty cheap. And it gives the guys seperate email. And that means none of the pop ups. YAY!

"Dark Night" is a good tune, tho better live. And im trying to sort out a recording of 4 blocks down. cos it is very good, and using a commie theme, without out actually saying so, cos it wasnt allowed in the club that they played in before.

I write lyrics a lot, and I usually find the best ones are the sarcastic and angry ones. Try to use descriptions as well, metaphors always sound good...
