That's a pretty creative way to go about it.
The main problem facing video games is the large backlog of parallelizing hitherto serial code. Dealing with a multi-core processor it turns out is radically different from dealing with the kind of game server I imagine they are running.
Long term I think this a good idea, but we'll still see how well it works in the short and medium term. Short term, game codes still focus heavily on the console and PC model that this may be hardware outpacing the software too much.
Medium term, given that it seems broadband providers will eventually control traffic flows more strictly than they are now, it's anybody's guess how well this will work over networks that are beyond the game medium's control.
But anyhow I think it's a really neat idea, it would be worth a try.
