I couldn't help but notice that in the picture in the back of "World Coming Down", Peter Steele is wearing a hammer and sickle patch on his right arm. The lyrics obviously don't reflect his politics but Im just curious to know what his ideas are besides "the world sucks and I wanna die".
TON fucking rules, by the way. Check them out if you haven't yet.

Everything I've seen and read would indicate that Peter Steele is a hedonistic individualist.
How that reflects politically, I have no idea.

TON's keyboarder is a Jew and they toured with Stuck Mojo whose vocalist is black so they cant be racists. Peter Steele named the band "Type O Negative" because he saw a request for that kind of blood in the yellow pages or something like that (I don't think blood type has anything to do with race either, my dad actually has type o negative blood and I have type a, the blood types have something to do with who could donate blood to who).
There was a rumour though that they were nazis and misogynists because of songs like "Xero Tolerance" and "I Know Your Fucking Someone Else" but those are actually songs about a broken relationship that Peter Steele almost commited suicide over.

I know nothing about the band, but I do know that type o blood is very common among the indigenous peoples of Latin America(including the millions of mestizos in Latin America as well)

Well I've been recently converted to loving type o negative because one of the girls in my dorm's dad bought "the least worst of..." because it had a parental advisory sticker and he'd never seen one before (!!!). She never listens to it so she lent it to me and I asked if she wanted to listen to it, she said no. I asked if I could buy it, she said yes, I asked how much, she said £13.99!!!!!!! Tight cow, she didn't pay for it in the first place and doesn't want to listen to it! I don't see the point, but she's a capi, what can I say. The thing is I still have the cd so if I keep quiet she might forget I have it and if she remembers i can alwsays copy it!
I love type o negative, there's something so real and Pete looks so good on the sleeve for "least worst of" which is also a fucking awesome name. He seems like a real dude, I read an interview with him in kerrang (this week's issue actually, the one with korn's jonathan davies on the front). I don't think he's overtly political, probably a bit left cos capitalism's done him no favours, but he looks like he's mainly a nihilist. i may be wrong though.

lol. All my really old threads that attracted few posts always seem to surface again every now and then (even the ones under my old name "El Che de Boca Jrs").
Anyhow, I doubt Peter Steele is very political (especially judging by the song "We Hate Everyone" where he said he's neither a fascist nor a communist). He can also be seen wearing a CCCP shirt with his old band Carnivore which had a very big "shock value" image. I do know he rejects Judeo-Christianism so I doubt he's some kind of liberal or neoconservative if he is political at all (Its a start, I suppose).
You definitely should pick up "October Rust" If you like their gothier stuff and "Slow, Deep & Hard" if you like their thrashier Carnivore-sounding stuff. I think all of it is amazing.

That's hilarious, seriously. Capitalism has done nothing for him ? What about all the money the guy makes off of his band ? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for these bands getting as much money as they can from these labels, but to say a rock star has been given no favors by capitalism is just ridiculous.
It's O.K though, I still love you.

Erm, I didn't think that ToN earned much money, maybe I'm wrong, but it's not like thier Linkin park or something.
