I use a few other small forums and topics like this get a lot of attention, so i shall try it on here and see how it works. Just tell everyone the songs you have been listening to today. I also find they are good when you are stuck for stuff to download, so you can look on here and steal ideas.

So i shall start, today i have been mostly listening to :

I think "People Have the Power" is one of her best songs.

LiZ, right on! Depeche Mode is still one of my favorites of all time. They are one of the few bands that can actually match my melancholy...and questioning of the state of affairs.

Today it's been:

"Name Of The Game" by Crystal Method
"I Against I" by Mos Def w/ Massive Attack
(I highly recommend both of these by the way, they are from the Blade II soundtrack, which is a movie I also highly recommend if you liked the first one).
The Crow Soundtrack, especially "Burn" by The Cure and "Darkness" by Rage Against The Machine
"Karma Police" by Radiohead
"Exciter" Album by Depeche Mode, whole thing.
And for some strange reason I been liking the 'catchy' sound to the song "Wasting My Time" by Default

Good, thats what i based it on. :)
It is stupid and pointless but it passes out basic information so the two (Jesse and this thread) are quite similiar. Maybe i think too much.

Still listening to Suede. I got 3 of their albums for £5 each and thats added to my CD collection for dirt cheap, so i'm not complaining.

I've been listening to some of Jerry Cantrell's solo stuff today. He actually wrote most of the great Alice In Chains songs, and he's almost as good alone as he is with Stahley and the rest of them. Highly recommended . . . I'm a grunge kid. Don't mind me. Three cheers for Generation X!

I used to be a massive fan of Bon Jovi but the mid 90's brit-pop (such an ugly term) movement dragged my attention towards Oasis and i never looked back. I still like to rock out to 'Living On A Prayer' every now and again though. ;)

Now I am interested in The Cooper Temple Clause. i saw em live a year ago (almost to the day) supporting Muse (a band I have a lot of time for) and I was fascinated by their onstage antics but found them uninspired musically. A year on, and I loved their recent double-A single so much that I bought it (the first single I have bought in many a year), and I was gonna see em live again but GCSE revision got in the way.

Zippy - Bon Jovi?? Oh dear...

Today musical soundbite:

Amen - We Have Come For Your Parents (44 minutes of pure hardcore punk-metal mayhem)
Mushroomhead - Solitaire Unravelling

Entertaining film yeah, if only for the myth building that Tony Wilson loves to create. The first part is about Ian Curtis and Joy Division, and that was the interesting part for me. The second was about The Hacienda club and The Happy Mondays, interesting but not that great.

YEAH!!!

A friend of mine just lent me a bootleg live version of "Rockin' in the Free World" by Pearl Jam!!!

IT ROCKS!!! m/

The lyrics are the bomb!

Rockin' In The Free World
by K's Choice
Cover by Pearl Jam

There are colours on the street
Red, white and blue
People shufflin' their feet
People sleepin' in their shoes
But there's a warnin' sign on the road ahead
There's a lot of people sayin' we'd be better off dead
Don't feel like Satan but I am to them
So I try to forget it anyway I can

Keep on rockin' in the free world!
Keep on rockin' in the free world!
Keep on rockin' in the free world!
Keep on rockin' in the free world!

I see a girl in the night
With a baby in her hand
Under an old street light
Near a garbage can
Now she puts the kid away and she's gone to get a hit
She hates her life and what she's done to it
That's one more kid that will never go to school
Never get to fall in love never get to be cool

Keep on rockin' in the free world!
Keep on rockin' in the free world!
Keep on rockin' in the free world!
Keep on rockin' in the free world!

We got a thousand points of light
For the homeless man
We got a kinder gentler machine gun hand

We got department stores and toilet paper
Got styrofoam boxes for the ozone layer
Got a man of the people says keep hope alive
Got fuel to burn got roads to drive

Keep on rockin' in the free world!
Keep on rockin' in the free world!
Keep on rockin' in the free world!
Keep on rockin' in the free world!

YEAH!!!!

I only opened this thread because i know you have a good taste in music, so i wanted to know what you were listening to. I guess we have a mutual respect thing going on here. :)

>nobody i have every spoken to about music have heard of my bloody valentine.

They are on of those bands that MTV don't play, so people don't care about them.

>which album have you got. my fav song is "You Made Me Realise".

I only have 'Isnt Anything', but the others are quite high on my list of "albums to get".

>do you listen to much other shoegazing stuff

I don't know how wide the genre is, but i listen to most of the stuff Q classed as shoegazing. I listen to Velvet Underground, Jesus And Mary Chain, Black Rebel are slightly in there.

That it is. I liked it, and from what i've read on the subject of the book being published Morrissey sounds quite childish in his anti-Rogan stance.
The book does go into detail on the negative aspects of their relationship, but thats one of the reasons i read it. I love The Smiths, but they are still human, and Morrissey and Marr both have their faults. A very interesting book.

On a side note; i'm related to Paul Carrock, who plays piano on The Smiths debut album. He is my Dads aunties cousin, and he used to be in the band Mike And The Mechanics, which is kinda okay and kinda embaresing at the same time. Never met the man myself, and i'm in no rush to either.

Nope, and he is coming to London but i can't go to that either. Nobody to go with, its damn expensive to see a gig in London because you have to stay the night there, and its sold out now anyway, so i'm buggered.

I haven't bought a ride album yet, i'm saving up for the T. Rex box set at the minute. :)

>You a fan of the Fast Show Zippy?<

Used to be when i was about 15, but now i like my comedy a little more advanced. Alan Partridge is the one for me now. :)
