Where can I find radical left-wing information and advice about personal finance? Such as the history of personal banking, whether I should use a bank or building society, direct debits, standing orders etc.

I would say it would be wise to save, save and save some more, but there's no telling whether the money that's being printed like no tommorow is going to have any value whatsoever beyond 2012 or sooner. People are saying that investing in gold and silver would be a smart descision, and I wonder what people here think about that. Personally, I would rather invest in ammunition for firearms for the purpose of hunting wild game, but of course I wouldn't just concentrate on this. Renewable energy sources like solar panels would be good to save for as well. I'm just speaking about what I am basically basing my finances off of for the future. I plan on purchasing large amount of ammunition, which would save me the trouble of having to gather and store alot of canned food and the like, which would seem very wise to do especially in the times we're in now. Basically just keeping it very minimalist. I like to smoke cigarettes, I rarely drink, so my requirements are pretty much narrowed down to food and maybe transportation to and from school. Rent of course is factor for most of us so I take that into consideration. The rest of my resources I throw into saving up for the future, and I think ammunition for self defense and for hunting is a definate must.

First, check out http://www.gnucash.org/ free (http://www.revleft.com/vb/group.php?groupid=29) financial-accounting software.
Also, Proudhon wrote some stuff on banks, I don't know much about it though.
If you want my personal advice, rather than use a bank, use a credit union or similar.
