become a sell out? would you suggest that cris cornells music was ever anything else than comercial shite?

Ehm yeah, his work with Audioslave and Soundgarden wasnt THAT commercial. Its a difference that you make music and it just so happens to be popular or you make music because you know its gonna sell a lot, because its appealing for the mtv public. You get my point?

Check out Soundgarden's early stuff. They were far from commercial in their early years

Soundgarden may be defensible but there is nothing that can save the rot that was Audioslave from the tag of commercial crap...

Their first album wasn't bad... but the rest were pretty shitty.

And it's not even that Chris Cornell "sold out" by working with Timbaland - I see it as trying something different - but rather than his voice doesn't even suit the music at all.

Selling out = KISS when they started selling KISS-branded everything, or Nickelback and admitting to using the same formula for all their singles to make themselves popular.

I like it. He should get some rappers for a remix.

I don't understand how people can say that Soundgarden was too commercial when none of it made any fucking sense.

He's selling out allright, he knows this approach will give hem more airtime at the commercial stations than his old work

That's hard to say based on one album - if he continues with this sound then yes, he has sold out. However, if it was just for one album, then it's a good case for experimentation w/ another style.

Trent Reznor about this piece of shit: "You know that feeling you get when somebody embarrasses themselves so badly YOU feel uncomfortable? Heard Chris Cornell's record? Jesus."

When we see Zack De La Rocha committing this kind of guff then we really have to worry.

okay, no. none of this compares to the difference between Vivada Vis and New Wave. those bastards are the very definition of sell out.
