zine release party tips?

Hello. So I am working on a zine about the Chicago/Illinois prison-industrial complex and a resource guide to Chicago orgs working in various ways for reform or abolition. I have been thinking about having a zine-release party to do a fundraiser for a local org, (perhaps books for women in prison but im not sure)
Anyways, the point is does anyone have any particularly successful party tips? Especially networking to make people come, succesful fundraising efforts, or really any good tips. I have never planned a party before, so I am excited and nervous!

maybe actually build some sort of relationship with the people who are the focus of your film and their community??? preferably individuals you are intending to film --seems obvious really--
