i have been a punk for a while but i always loved hardcore dance techno.

i want to start mixing and making songs for fun but i dont know where to start
so, i am asking for advice on software/equipment/vinyls/dance scenes (in the northeast usa)/ and where i can get everything on the cheap.

pm me, send me links, what ever would help!!

THANK YOU!

Go onto youtube and search for the channel "ellaskins." He's a Dj that has a ton of videos on DJ'ing that you'll lose days of sleep watching.

Also, watch videos of people on youtube DJ'ing (mostly bedroom DJs) they'll usually have a list of their gear or you can prob msg them and ask them about their setups and how to start.

In terms of making your own music though, you'll need a program like Reason or Ableton live as well as some hardware like a midi controller

Mixing = Not so hard, Producing = Very rewarding if done well, but absolutly solid. Worth trying anyway though. But you need patience and persistance for that . What kind of hardcore techno you like?:)

There should be some fairly good deals for equipment on www.musiciansfriend.com

What I'd like to know though, is that when you mix, do you have to have a power amp and a pre amp and a PA system? Or if you're just doing bedroom DJ'ing, can you just plug headphones into the mixer?
