This may seem kind of like a cliche , but I'm going insane .
I haven't gotten more than about 2 hours a night for the past two weeks because I'm freaking out about my exams coming up . I don't know but I'm really tired yet I just can't stop thinking about things .
I really want to do well because I need the points to do social care but I don't know ,I'm worrying too much but I can't stop :( I'm getting no school work done because of lack of sleep and thats just making it worse , and more It feels like its too late to do much :(
I have school in 2hours ffs and haven't slept tonight .. I'm losing my f**king mind :crying:

Must be intense. I'm assuming you need high grades for Social Care? Anyway, the only thing I can suggest is sleeping pills. They always seem to work for me when I can't sleep.
I agree with the relax thing above. There is nothing you need to be stressed about, whats the meaning of a fucking number or character in a piece of paper?Just take it cool, and it would probably "let your mind free" and improve your results(wondering whys not happening to me and keep failing:p), stress never good, try taking everything from another viewpoint, from the "fun" part, if you dont like something "fuck it",, if you do enjoy it and learn it in deep.

Its a number that matters , if I don't get it Im screwed and can't do what I want with my life ... :(

If you do some research you would find out that there are "opportunities" out there you wouldnt expect. There are numerous colleges, in the whole world, open to students, you may not get the place in the particular college you want, but in another that may in the end be better, or suit you better, or like it better!Dont close yourself in one and single way, in one and only "light" in the end of the tunel, run towards what you see, and get to what you like the more.

As someone who has suffered this for over 40 years of my adult life I sympathise.
For myself I found that the greatest improvement (in my responce to it, not to the problem itself) was when I accepted the fact of it. It would appear that my greatest distress was caused by my concern about the problem rather than the problem itself.
When I was younger I could just go without sleep altogether for the night and continue through school or work as normal. I found that once I got past 8 or 9 am I got over the lack of sleep and could carry on. In fact I often felt even more alert than usual, sometimes even slightly manic. Not ideal I know but for me, far better than a tranquiliser hangover. This is not so easy now that I am older unfortunatly. I now get to about 10 - 11 am and I am totaly wiped out. Strange thing being that if I struggle through the day, I still have the problem again, to a reduced extent, that night.
I did resort to pills once but found that they dulled me so much the next day that it was far worse than not sleeping.
We are all different though so if I were you I wouldn't rule any option out without trying. I would suggest that your priority should be to find your own way to manage the worst effects of the problem rather than desperatly seek a total "cure".
Good luck.

do you have a sport or hobby that you enjoy to do? whenever im stressed or pissed off at something i just go to the gym or do stuff i like and it just gets you mind off it for a while so you can relax.
if you dont have a hobby or sport i suggest you get one because it seems that you are giving this too much of your time and it is beating you down. just a few hours a week will just help you think about the stuff thats bugging you.
i really hope this help because i know what it feels like to have no sleep for a while, good luck!! :)

You're not going crazy, you're just experiencing the effects of sleep deprivation. The most important thing you need right now is rest. Have you even tried to sleep? Do you just lay in your bed with your mind racing, unable to fall asleep? I would suggest taking some OTC sleeping medication, but taking too much diph can make things even weirder. If OTC meds don't work you should see a doctor and try to get some stronger sleeping medication. I can't stress this enough, the thing you need most right now is sleep and you need to make it a top priority.

Try not to eat anything too close to when you go to bed and if you haev to drink, try milk or something that doesn't have caffeine in. Also, don't just lie there, get up and read or watch tv if you cant fall asleep. Try not to do too much exercise too close to going to bed. Maybe if you can, try staying up all night one night and going to bed slightly earlier than usual the night after.

I would strongly advice against sedatives unless it's out of absolute necessity; depending on what you take, the hangover can have a larger impact on your capacity to study then sleep deprivation. If you must, avoid Benzo's and go with a low dose of anti-histamines.
Try and get as much exposure to sunlight in the morning as you can and exercise during the day, (you could do this whilst listening to recorded notes).
Don't use your bed for anything else but sleep and sex (speaking of which, an orgasm sends some people straight to sleep).
Get a white noise machine or something that makes a light humming sound, or practice meditation (Yoga Nidra worked well for me initially). Focus all your attention on what you are listening to.
Avoid caffeine after 12.00pm.
Above all remember this result is not a definitive reflection of what you are able to do in the future. try and make peace with the possibility that you may not get into social work immediately based on your score; however there are countless other avenues that you can take and hopefully you have gained more then a couple of numbers in the process.
Good luck:)

I don't want to sound flippant, but have you tried masturbation? I mean, too much of it? Go ahead and doze in the course of that.... that's the best part...
If that fails (and you tried it), try the following mantra: "The test is already over. You did FINE!"
The latter was surprisingly successful for lowering stress, in my experience, when coupled with actual preparation. The former, de rigeur... (at the risk of TMI). I passed with honors, fwiw..
...best of luck to ya!

As the local mod, I'd say DIY has sunk to new lows...but you're right.

...and always the moral judgment... sigh...
I was making a joke (a joke based around the fact that 1. Normally, in any other context, such conversation would likely be out of the DIY realm and would be inappropriate, and 2. people being afraid to talk about things like masturbation), and even managed to include a smiley face. It was a humorous way of saying I agreed with you. If anyone is passing a judgment, it isn't me.

It might seem trivial, but try to get up early, and fill your day up as much as possible. Probably stay away from coffee. Also, try to get off the internet early (7-ish) and relax, maybe read a book.
so:
- Get up early
- Active
- No coffee
- stay off the internet
- chillax.
Exams can be a pain in the arse though, and tend to rip into your sleeping patterns like a motherfucker.

Get out of the house for a couple of hours and do something physically demanding before you go to bed (not wanking).
Drugs or alcohol won't help because all your body is doing is sleeping off the effects of the intoxicants. It isnt actually your brain 'resting' which is partly why you still feel fucked after getting stoned or pissed the night before.
Go jogging, swimming, or join a karate club. Anything that causes you to sweat is good.

I know exactly what you're going through, I myself suffer from extreme anxiety, so when exam time hits I'm even more of a mess but trust me three things will help you out tremendously.
-Good diet.
-A "just keep truckin," attitude.
-Marijuana.
Without those three I don't think I would've made it through school, lol.
As for sleep perhaps you might want to look into over the counter sleep aids or again marijuana unless you're not sleeping because you need to get work done. The more you don't sleep, the more chaotic you're going to feel, so maybe a good night sleep is all you need.

lol are you serious? Why putting yourself on drugs that may have other "problems" but yeah can heal the particular problem, when a situation is only in your mind..?We do not need to mix ourselves with chemicals on every and each situation, you do know that a lot medicines do have side effects, dont you? Then why putting yourself into pointless risk?
Primitivism..wtf?

You might have overdone it. :)

Why did you cut out the last part of his quote ("that may do one good and 100 bads")? Many psychoactive drugs do create more side effects than they are probably worth. There is a vigorous debate among psychiatrists about the overprescription of mood-altering meds.
In the U.S. there is a huge controversy over the increase in Ritalin prescriptions, which have quadrupled or something rather insane like that in recent years.

If you're not on linux, theres a program that I found recently helped me. F.Lux (http://www.stereopsis.com/flux/) basically dims your monitor at night so being at your desk doesn't trick your brain into thinking its still daylight.

That sounds like a really useful program.
