In september last year, the Austrian Parliamentary elections took place. Shockingly far right parties won over 30% of the vote, and has been predicted to grow at the next elections . One party the the FPA (Freedom Party of Austria), a fascist party, received 18% of the vote, and has been predicted to grow at the next elections . They have connections to an underground group of neo-nazis, they have also made it clear that they want to abolish the ban on nazi memorabilia. Nazi supporters and WWII veterans have told people that the FPA support nazism. Will the Nazi party to rise once more, will somebody stop that from happening?

I hope somebody stops this from happening. Last thing we need is a fourth "Reich". Hitler's attempt already took millions of lives.

Hm, I actually hoped that it would get better after Haider's death but that seems to be a misapprehension. :(
I don't think that a nazi party will rise once again but I have to admitt that our Austrian friend are worrying me with their nationalistic attitude.

The far right nationalists are a protest vote, in a situation of crisis people turn against major parties and will vote for who-ever is likely to piss off the major parties the most.

For most of europe its clear that the established parties are terrified of the far right, so to a certain kind of mind that is sick to death of the political bullshit voting far right is a way to send a message.

Sadly far left parties with this kind of outsider status and a viable activist base are few and far between. Far to many are seen as part of the system, and therefore part of the problem.
