"Were active" is the slogan of the Autonomous nazis in Germany, they went on the Dresden march so its clear there is connections between them.

I think this is being underestimated, there area lot of angry kids out there right now, these guys are not going to do any serious damage thats true, but does anyone want what happened in Germany to happen in England? Even a little bit?

When nazis look like nazis they are not a threat, when they look like any other try hard kid who likes tagging they become slightly more worrying.

I don't think this German/Dutch trend will catch on in the UK for several reasons:


1) Young people on the whole are much less political in the UK than they are in Germany and the Netherlands. If you ask 16 or 17 year olds in Germany, NL, and certain other European countries whether they're right-wing or left-wing, most of them will have some broad notion what these terms mean and tell you straight away who they sympathise with.

In the UK, most young people don't care about politics enough to be able to tell you where they stand - at best, they will prefer a Tory politician over a Labour one or vice versa, but nothing too radical. I'm also meeting a lot of people who aren't aware what 'left' and 'right' refer to. Correct me if I'm wrong, this is just my impression.

This political disinterest is good and bad. Bad for obvious reasons, good because your chances to get ganged up on by a bunch of teenage Nazis in the street are much higher in continental Europe.


2) The 'autonomist/autonomous lifestyle' that these Nazis have adopted pretty much requires an urban setting where a lot of adventures are to be had. But in bigger British cities, the younger generations have grown up in a very multicultural environment and will have made friends of other ethnicities than their own along the way. This is a good thing.

Some may still sympathise with the BNP and fantasise about the threat posed to British culture by 'illegal immigrants'/muslims in a Daily Mail kind of way, but they are not racist enough to take to the streets and join some super-Arayan, pure-breed, neo-nazi gang.
