As part of the run-up to the launching of UCPA News in April, I've uploaded the Graphics Test onto YouTube. If you have thoughts or comments on the graphical presentation, please post.

Well as I said to you earlier, I wouln't mind seeing it with the bottom left cog rotating the other way. I felt that it drew my eyes to the bottom of the screen, but then if it rotates the other way it way direct my eyes gradually away from it altogether. Otherwise its brilliant, very professional, but I only noticed one small bit of blue in it with another headline. The two colours work well and all red most of the time might look murky, but then you could get the presenter to wear something other than red or black. All in all, I say its highly professional and if it was on terrestrial tv among the more seasoned channels it wouldnt stick out. Very good quality, sir.

The second graphics test is now available. We took Taig's advice and reversed the rotation of the gear. This second test also includes the opening montage, and we opened up the mics to get the background levels. Any thoughts or comments are appreciated.

It looks great, professional, sleek and all the other boxes you want to tick... not sure about the music that plays over the montage though?

Turning that the other way DOES work! Looks perfect now, maybe the only other thing is the banner at the top, it looks a little too dark, but then I think thats in the background. You could probably leave that because if it was made in too garish a colour you'd end up staring at that and not the broadcast! As it stands now, its good to go in my opinion.

Pretty slick, what kind of software did you use for the animations? flash?

It's Adobe Premiere Pro (mainly) and After Effects (post-production). Both, incidentally, are part of the Creative Suite and can be found on virtually every torrent site out there.
