Dudes, do you know the feeling when you are reading about new ideology and you just seem to agree with every single thing that you read? Well guess what.
Thats right, I just had one moment like that ten minutes ago. It seems I have always been tilting towards Trotskyism, and it only took a well placed wikipedia article to confirm that. So OK, conversion does not seem like a right word so how about realization?
The last time I felt like this was when reading about communism.
I still have to disappoint all the hardcore trots on this forum though, as I still dont condemn every last bit of stalinist USSR. After all it was a degenerated workers state.

Actually, the "hardcore Trots" would be those you should agree with, since they agree with Trotsky's analysis of the USSR as a degenerated workers' state.
Congrats on the "conversion". ;)

You are inspired by socialism comrade and that's a great thing :thumbup1:
Trotskyism is one of the most important sub-ideologies inside of the lefty scope, but keep yourself opened and learn as much as you can.
I believe that all knowledge is useful, especially when we regard political-economical spectrum.
Wiki is a great staring point, but now you can develop on that. Hunt down some Trotsky books, or even better - find the stuff that was written by Trotsky himself :)
There are a million ideas out there, and the more you know and understand them, you'll have a greater chance to understand where you fit it.
Knowledge is the most important part. I think that one should also venture out and read stuff that is sometimes totally opposite.
For example, although I consider Adolf Hitler one of the worst human beings that ever lived on this planet, I did read his book ("Mein Kampf").

lol, I still haven't decided on what exact "ism" is for me. It's been 2 and a half years.

Ideologies are the nemesis of critical thinking and consequently of freedom, providing a book of rules and "answers" which relieve us of the "burden" of thinking for ourselves.

I implore you to look past the veil of propaganda that is an insult to our intelligence, regarding revolutionary socialists movements in Russia and China. Bourgeoisie scholars consistently cite reactionary and ludicrous sources to confirm a multitude of absurd and irrational ideological viewpoints regarding the development of socialism.
For a general overview of the American state of bourgeoisie manipulation and imperialist domination, I suggest Noam Chomsky's Hegemony or Survival.
For an in-depth description and comprehensive display of the need for a revolutionary Marxist party to unite the working masses, I refer you to Vladimir Lenin's State and Revolution, as well as Imperialism: The Highest Stage of Capitalism.
In truth, you seem easily convinced by Wikipedia, which is not a reliable source at all times. I'd rather see you be an informed Trotskist or Anarchists, as opposed to a narrow-minded anti-revisionist who blindly follows what others say. You make decisions for yourself. No one else can make those decisions for you. Don't fall into the same traps that the malinformed masses worldwide often succumb to.

Kassad: I have read the books of Lenin you suggested, though thanks for the other tips comrade.
As to the credibility of wikipedia: I think that it is credible enough. After all, anyone can write a book, but not anyone can alter a book. But even more than wikipedia, I like to get my information from forums like these, since through forums i don't get only source information, but often some insightful comments too... Such as WANKAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
And I still don't see myself as a trotskyist or a m-leninist for that matter. I identify myself as a communist above all. Its just that while reading the article about trotskyism I noticed how much I just agreed with all that stuff.
