well, if this story which has just popped up out of nowhere is true, we all know Rita didnt deserve it. She dealt with bob's affairs with Cindy Breakspeare very well, was very tolerant, and a good singer with the I-threes. But nonetheless, "everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody want to die"-P. Tosh. It was bob's turn, and when Jah calls, you answer!! same for peter.

That, and she was plugged in the back of the head with a bullet from an assault rifle. Her skull stopped the bullet. That alone warrents her some kind of awesome holiness, especially considering:
1.)Jamaica's medical system was probably more likely to kill her then the bullet,
and 2.) She was shot from less than 20 yards away (while saving her children)

edit: Lauren Hill is set to play as her in the doomed project known as the Bob Marley Story. Her body isn't the right type for it, in my opinion
