The 26th of March the NSV (Nationalist students union) will be holding it's annual protest, this year they're back in Leuven.
The NSV claims to be a 'clean' nationalist organisation, but their membership consist mostly of neo-nazis, (new-)solidarists and 'third way' fascists. The symbols they use and their history leaves no doubt about it, nevermind the fact that they have no problem allowing blood and honour on their protest: these people are fascists and we won't allow them on our streets.
Previous years, the people of Leuven have shown their resistance to the NSV, this year will be no different.
There will be an antifascist protest starting at the Damiaanplein at 20h.

The cops are already freaking out before anything even started, they're pretty much gonna close down the city centre.

All busses travelling through the centre are cancelled, bikes or garbage aren't allowed on th streets and two choppers will be circling the city.
The city looks like it's besieged.

Hi I am very new to Leuven and am clueless about the activities here but tonight I saw a gang with black hoodies throwing molotov cocktail like things and vandalising building windows, bringin them all down, breaking car windows ... it was quite violent. Who were these people, what do they represent and what do they want to vocalise? thanxx for any explanations

Well it depends on where you were, at the train station there were clashes between the police and left-wing protesters, some were pissed off at the police for locking down the city, others tried to reach the fascists demonstration to stop them. Some flares were thrown, you may have mistaken them for molotovs.
In the city centre, a group of fascist attacked homes of suspected muslims, raided a squat and attacked people who looked foreign or leftwing.
So i have no idea wich group you saw.

I don't understand very much Dutch but according to the pictures there were many anti-fascists. How did it went?

There were about 1000 antifascists (mainly from Leuven) versus 300 fascist "students" (not many students though).
