Hi all. It's an interesting forum you have here, I've just spent the last few hours reading various threads and find that I feel the urge to contribute to the discussion. It's probably polite to introduce myself before I start ranting :)

I'm Klepto, I'm 36 and I'm from Scotland. On the Political Compass I'm pretty much slap bang in the middle of the libertarian left, not that that means much. I've been interested in politics (and philosophy, history and religion, they seem inseparable) pretty much all my life, and come from a long line of socialists. I read the anarchist pamphlet 'Anti-mass Methods of Organisation for Collectives' when I was around 15, and 'The Communist Manifesto' a couple of years later. I don't often read political essays of that sort but both of those made a big impression on me.

These days I usually describe myself as an anarchist, although my views sometimes differ considerably from those of others who describe themselves similarly. I'm also a fervent anti-nationalist and have strong environmentalist leanings, while still trying to be more of a transhumanist than a neoluddite.

I stumbled across these forums after searching for a quote, it turned out to be from Josip Tito and one of your members has it in their sig. I've tried other (more mainstream) political forums but often find irate right wing dogmatic capitalists yelling 'commie!' at me and accusing me of wanting to eat their babies or something. You guys seem to at least talk in a language I can understand, and I can't see me being accused of being a communist here ;)
