The chorus is actually:
Sixteen, clumsy and shy
I went to London and I
I booked myself in at the Y ... W.C.A.
I said : "I like it here - can I stay ?
I like it here - can I stay ?
And do you have a vacancy
For a Back-scrubber?"
It's Half A Person. I believe it was a b-side to Shoplifters of the World Unite and of course on Louder Than Bombs. Its always been one of my favourite b-sides.

Today I listened to nothing, but tomorrow I want to listen to 'Faith' by The Cure. When I was 15, a goth girl made me a cassette tape of it saying "don't pass it on, though, I don't want everybody to listen to it" as if it was the most obscure cult act in the world.
I haven't heard it in many years but remember that it was a good, if somewhat depressing album - even by Cure standards.

F_byVtHrGEMIn '87, Huey released this, Fore, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip to be Square", a song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the band itself.
