I saw them at Reading 2001 and they blew my head off. I have been a fan for years, and because i've been feeling a little angsty lately i came back to them. Its left wing music, but it isnt all about politics.

Its about love, life, depression, lack of direction and its all beautiful.

How big are the Manics in America ?

I know they are very pro-Cuba and that wont really gain them a massive fanbase in the US of A. Have they ever toured there ?
I dont beleive they have, but its worth asking.

Are their cd's freely available in the shops, or do you have to order them especially ?

The Manics did an amazing gig in Havana, they met Castro and did a program for Channel 4 all about it. The gig seemed really good from what I saw of it, they charged 25cents to get in and then give all the money to the Cuban health service, they made a huge loss on the concert but didn't particularly care.

When "This is my truth, tell me yours"was a smash in the European charts and everyone was talking about the Manics,no record label in the US released the album!
Correct me if I'm wrong..That's what I heard at that time.

I dont know one American manics fan. I know a few canadians who like the band but i have never met a single American who is even aware of their existence.

I used to be a stereotypical manics fan. Died hair, eyeliner, pout, Sylvia Plath books. Oh, those were the days for me. *laughs*
