I thought the message I recieved on facebook might be an entertaining read for some of you. I laughed so hard. ;)

"It's obvious from reading your post on Karl Marx's FAN page (what an oxymoron) that you really don't understand how Communism and Capitalism work. Let's start with Communism. It sounds like a great idea on the surface. There's no upper class raking in millions of undeserved dollars. There's total equality and nobody holds an advantage over anybody else. Let's contrast this to Capitalism. Capitalism emphasizes free trade, no limit on success, and little to no government intervention. People have to exert some semblance of effort to enjoy their preferred lifestyle. The problem with Communism is this: there IS an upper class. That upper class is the GOVERNMENT. And like the 50-some-odd-thousand other people in this ill-conceived group, you fail to recognize the presence of government will always doom Communism. Likewise, the presence of Government dooms Capitalism, as we're currently seeing in America (and to a lesser extent, in the global economy).

Capitalism wasn't conceived to screw the working class, it was conceived to grant people the ability to ascend as far as their effort would take them. Capitalism is about capitalizing on opportunity, and the reason there are poor people in America is because they fail to take advantage of the opportunity our education system provides. There are always going to be poor people because some people simply lack the drive to join the working class. That's something neither Communism nor Capitalism will ever eradicate. Communism, however, will definitely increase the number of poor people. Here's how: Communism is like Robin Hood. The government uses its power to take from the rich to give to the poor. What do the rich then think? They think, "Well shit. What's the point of hard work if I'm just going to be penalized/robbed by the government?". They decide they're not going to work to support the poor anymore, and they quit their jobs with the intent to live off the government. Unfortunately, they were the government's means of providing for the poor, and now everybody's FUCKING BROKE! So while Communism might sound nice and dandy (and it does), it's a stupid idea that renders everybody's lives equally shitty. I hope you take the time to consider this point of view. You're free to believe what you want, I just like to present people with new perspectives they've probably never heard."

That guy presents a view point I have absolutely never heard before in all my years of public schooling, through several courses in American history and government. I have seen the light.

That's because he's unintelligent. He thinks he knows what he's talking about. ;)

So this guy doesn't know exactly what communism is. After years of a combination of capitalist propaganda and failures of socialist regimes all over the world, I can't really blame him.
I'm sure he'd be quite surprised to hear that communism means that there wouldn't be a government at all. That's apparently his biggest concern with the whole communist thing.
It's annoying to explain people that communism doesn't mean things like 5-year plans and gulags. Once I manage to convince them of that though, they're usually interested in what I have to say. Mainly because all their problems with communism are actually problems with socialism.
So how do leninists handle that? Since you have to defend at least some of the things they disapprove, it's probably harder, right?

Haha, yea. I went into great detail explaining that.

I actually went through that with my friends when they first found out I was Communist. I had to keep explaining to them that everything they thought about it were actually traits of Socialism rather than Communism.

So how do leninists handle that? Since you have to defend at least some of the things they disapprove, it's probably harder, right?

For me I would have to say that the hardest part to defend is the whole revolution and overthrowing the bourgeoisie factor.

There are always going to be poor people because some people simply lack the drive to join the working class.
sooo... my grandpa who was working class wasn't poor then?
Funny thing, I thought he died because he couldn't afford cancer treatment, all along he was loaded because he had the glorious opportunity of working in a welding factory!

Communism, however, will definitely increase the number of poor people. Here's how: Communism is like Robin Hood.
Now there is some logic
Funny thing, always thought that Robin Hood was the good guy in that story also...

What do the rich then think? They think, "Well shit. What's the point of hard work if I'm just going to be penalized/robbed by the government?".
Then they sell their $600,000 oak desk and $5000 office chair and substitute it for a nice cardboard box! (this person forgot that there are also NO MORE rich people)

Unfortunately, they were the government's means of providing for the poor, and now everybody's FUCKING BROKE!
What, did we burn the money and property we took back or something?

This is on OI, as is an opposing ideologies letter and dont fit anywhere else.Every thread opened around here can be "judged" as an "attempt to start a flame war".Its the "nature" of the forum.

When i said forum i meant the whole Revleft not only OI.And OI is a forum for opposing ideologies and beliefs to be discussed, so if something is considered to be OI, it is discussed in here.

Yes it is, but as there are a big variety of ideologies around here that have huge distances , every thread can lead to a flame war..But usually they stay civil.

Well considering your's and Bobkindles posts are the ones where I have to really sit down and read/post very carefully, I don't doubt it.

But people like this guy are really just around to try and proove people wrong, it won't go anywhere, ultimately its just 2 people tryign to show how smart they are and how dumb the other person is, and since there is no objective way to judge it, its ultimately pointless. UNLESS civil discussion, learning, and intilectual stimulation is your goal, and that dude is'nt going to give that.

still, there is no need to look for more trouble.
when there is no debate, no idea to work with, there is no reason to keep it open and risk a flame war. if that kind of thing would have been posted in reactionarry chatter i would not complain at all.

but so far this is what it look like
-lookz! an assole posted me an anti-commie message on facebook!

Ok ok closed.True there arent much possibilities of a discussion, and it really serves nothing, but i try to stay "out" of the local mods job, especially when they are online.
