I guess my name says it all. I became a Yippie at age 10, during Chicago. I'm more like Dellinger than Hoffman politically.
I have voted for Dick Gregory many times. I enjoy the company of the Maoist Communists in my community (I don't think there are other brands here) but am also a born again christian.
My elderly mother once stole the book Revolution For the Hell Of It from the local library for me.

I am a big fan of Abbie Hoffman. Welcome.
I'd be careful on telling everyone that you are a born again christian. Most prejudices are not accepted here at revleft but prejudice against religion seems to be promoted.

You're welcoming someone new to the site with that kind of talk? Ignore him. If he believed that for a second he'd obviously have just left the site by now and I'd rather not have someone's intro thread hijacked by atheism vs. theism. Anyone, the Yippie aspect is far more interesting. Welcome to Revleft!

yeah. . . I dunno, Taig. We are a pretty ban happy site. . . by which I mean, I completely disagree with you. There is definitely a lot of bias here against the religious, and a bit of warning on that seems only fair.
As for said newie, Welcome! And be sure you have a good close look at the FAQ. :)

Oh don't even worry about that. All one needs to know is to leave religion out of discussion, except in the Religion subforum in OI, or maybe in philosophy. Really don't worry too much. Welcome to Revleft!

welcome, fuck christianity, it'll only fuck you up and ruin shit for you
HLVS keep it civil, we welcome people here, this can be addressed anywhere else.
We have religious members in CC, so dont listen that religious are some people who get restricted or ban or something, if the religion stays inside some lines, and there arent any serious objections by religion itself(abortion for ex) you will just have a good time here, but you will continously see the religous arguments falling down because maprity here are atheists, but dont feel "unwelcome".
Ohhh and welcome on board btw!:)

I've been flamed before, no biggie. Its rare to find a chrsitian leftist, in my experience, but I am here for the left part, and want to learn as most here probably know more than I.

On a mildly irrelevant point, I've got relatives in the US that used to live next door to Abbie Hoffman's mother.
