i think whats even more interesting is the traces of methane they found which suggests life is still there.


i think its only a matter of time now...

The methane is interesting but it's still a large jump from that to life on Mars, especially currently active life that supposedly expelled the methane. Evidently there was once life on mars and it is known that life survives in the most difficult of locations but a (supposedly) dead planet, that's a difficult one...

It seems more likely that their would be life on Jupiter's moon Europa. Since the surface is covered in ice it is possible that sub glacial lakes exist much like under Antarctica. Since life has been found in these isolated lakes in Antarctica it is not altogether a massive leap to the lakes on Europa.

The article puts forward a different theory for why life may exist but both are valid.

When I read the title of this thread, I was expecting like some sort of dinosaur fossil or something, not microbes.

But still cool nonetheless.
