hmmm yes... I do like some sex pistols stuff... but like the clash a whole lot more.

And... yes sadly sid was a junkie... that whole head but thing in Texas was awful... I had a girlfriend who was into them in a big way and had a poster of Sid with blood and all taken right after that incedent. They should never have played in Texas... Their whole spin on that was, why go play in New York... that would be like preaching to the converted... and while in the '70s punk was basicly a NY scene, most of the countery didn't understand it... Expecally cowboys in Texas. They probobly would have been treated like gods in NY... they had a huge following.

Some people I know play in a Clash cover band. They are excellent. Have to agree The Clash were way better than the Pistols.

sex pistols?? know the name but not the music. my step dad is heroin addicted...but he listened to black sabbath. once while high on herion he and his ex-gurl (dead gurl now) committed suicide together, well he failed at his attempt but she didnt. he wasnt in a band because he spent most of his time in prison.

If its any help, atleast you step dad has good taste in music. Black Sabbath were outstanding in the early days.

The Clash had three good songs.

The Pistols rawked. Anyone who say John and Sid saw the face of working class frustration.

Besides, not too many LPs hold up in the long run, but the Pistols still sound good. They still sound good.

Although I was never really into punk I think that bands like the Dead Kennedys or the Misfits were a lot better than the Sex Pistols..I really enjoyed "pretty vacant" some time ago but Inever found something interesting in them.
