THis is an interesting site. There is an organization called "THe Engaged Zen Foundation" which spiritually rehabilitates inmates, claiming them more rehabilitated after these meditations than any other prisoners in the system.
They also bring accusation against the institution, decrying atrocities, both legal and illegal, which occur behind the bars.
SOunded pretty neat to me. I think it counts as leftist. Check it out:
