Hello All.

Republicans crow about the AFL-CIO, NAACP, ACLU, minimum wage, etc. Collectively, they celebrate tax relief, the death penalty, and the Moral Majority. Dems squawk about No-Bid contracts, gun control, and Rendition. They have their set of "successes", just like the Repubs. You get my point.

I'm curious. Can you give me a few examples of:

policies, concepts, so forth, in place that fit your philosophy

policies, concepts, so forth, that you think are jjjjust around the corner, that follow your ideals

and current things that royally piss you off.

Please, let's not get into a debate about the specific examples I gave regarding Dems and Repubs, and let's not denigrate into a ***** session about the state of the world today. Please, enlighten me. What, in American society TODAY, do you AGREE with, what leftist policies do you see JUST about to come to fruition, and what specific policies put a burr in yer butt?

Honestly,

Chris

There's really nothing that we could say "follows our ideas" or, really, goes anywhere near them. However, there are things that we think are at least a step in the right direction. Unemployment benefits, welfare, and most labor laws, and universal healthcare are things I think everyone on the left can at least say are positive steps, even though we might not think they go far enough. Things that build on infrastructure, public transportation, our education system...etc are things that leftists, generally, won't complain about.

As for the things we can't stand, there are plenty. NAFTA, the whole Bush/Clinton "pre-emptive strike" doctrine, the Death Penalty, drug laws, laws on what people call victimless crime, gun control...etc are examples of issues and policies we would likely be irritated over. There are, of course, many, many, many more.

I don't know if I was as specific as you would've liked, but that hopefully at least gave you a general idea.

EDIT: What we oppose and support, in some cases, is situational. For example, some state socialists, such as Marxist-Leninists, would be against the death penalty in a capitalist society, because they see the state in that society as a tool of the CEOs and Bosses, and in such a society the death penalty would inevitably be used in some way to serve the ruling class interests. However, in a socialist society, in which (they would say) the state is under the control of the workers, they might not be so opposed.
