We all know that the Media is very good at swaying peoples ideas and such (news, television, movies) what ever. Why doesn't anyone try and take advantage of this and start spreading the message via this? Perhaps the first things a revolution should focus on trying to control is the Media? I dont know... I guess I'm asking if anyone else see's any importance in using the media to our advantage (in any way)?

Look up Antonio Gramsci, he'd be right up your ally. In his view the bourgeoisie control society both economically and culturally, the latter being used to instill "common-sense" values into people so the prospect of abandoning capitalism is totally absurd and unrealistic, among other, reactionary values. Therefore, the Communists must fight two fronts: one economically (workers among workers) and one intellectually (teachers/etc. among, well, yeah) in order to ensure the success of revolution.
Anyway, the reason why people right now don't go "spreading the message" is because they can't, or at least not on any sort of medium where they'd get lots of views or readers without a determined (and financially troubling) effort to do so.

The media is controlled by a handful of powerful, wealthy, multi-national corporations which are almost as powerful (if not more powerful) than many nations.
