Inspiring mobilisation - what chance now of a general strike?:)

The Irish Congress of Trade Unions has called on its members to begin balloting for a one day strike on March 30th, encompassing the entire public sector and any private sector companies that are refusing to pay wage increases under the national wage agreement.

There was also a one day strike yesterday called by the Civil & Publin Ssrvice Union which is the union for lower grade civil servants.

Public transport workers were supposed to be going on strike this weekend but it's been postponed for talks in the Labour Relations Commission. The NBRU had called for a one day strike on Saturday and SIPTU had called for an indefinite strike from Sunday.
