well this looks fun, although admitetly a litle over the top and insensitive, but what do you expect from tarantino

There seems to be a fashion for films about soldiers in WWII atm - Valkyrie (I imagine this isn't worth watching because nothing with Tom Cruise ever is), Defiance (which seems a bit corny to me) and now this.

yeah, but tarantino was planning to do this movie already for ages, so i guess thats more a productionstudio fashion than tarantino trying to be trendy.

I never said it was. But who's to say it won't be as crap as the other 2 seem (one has a crap trailer and the other has Tom Cruise)

I've seen Valkyrie. Didn't want to, but my cousin did, so I went along.
It actually has an exceptional supporting cast: Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy, Tom Wilkinson, and Terrence Stamp, to name a few.
Cruise did drag it down a bit, simply because it wasn't the part for him. The whole language thing in the film wasn't good, either...all of the "Germans" spoke English (with English accents, no less), which irritated me.
(Also, it was kind of cool that the film that reminded people that in fact there were Germans who resisted Hitler. Some people I was with at the theater didn't even know that.)

I hate Kenneth Brannagh! He's an appalling actor.
As to English Germans...

Going by the IB trailer, it has a very similar portrayal of Hitler.

He does not do a mean Hamlet. There is nobody I can think of makes a worse Hamlet. Hypothetically, his Hamlet would weep at the boot of Emmerdale does Hamlet. He is awful. I could search the OED to find a word that accurately describes how shit he is and exhaust myself for nothing. I am undergoing my first experience of formal training, and I can out-Hamlet him. Balls to Brannagh. How can he, whose years of training and experience in the RSC couldn't make him not a shit actor, get work and money, not even having to bother about working regularly, when so many actors go hungry? The Russian revolution started over less. I heard that only 10% of British actors are in employment at any one time. While I'll stand mistaken if someone supplies the actual figure, it says alot. Have none of you seen Withnail and I? Makes you sick, that work goes to Kenneth Brannagh, who has neither looks nor talent nor charisma. Fie on't! It out-Herods Herod! 'Tis an unweeded garden that grows to seed!

Wow, you really have a thing for Kenneth Branagh, don't you?
Anyway, he was pretty good in Valkyrie.

Doesn't look too good from that trailer and I'm not sure whether I want to watch it. I love Tarantino films usually, but this doesnt look like my sort of thing really :(

Indeed - it looks too "standard fare" to be classic Tarantino.
But we'll see, I suppose. I trust Tarantino to make it at least somewhat enjoyable.
