The people living on the corner of the road are moving, they were Islamic. They never stepped foot out of their house and nobody had ever seen them except once or twice a year. They were here in the neighborhood before any of the other houses were built, and nobody knew them at all. Now they are moving out, and all the white people are celebrating. I heard whooping cries of happyness from my other neighbor when he heard the news. WHAT THE FUCK MAN YOU DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THEM!!!! I am fucking tired of conservative Texas.

Hmm, did you ask any of them why they are celebrating? I mean, if you never see someone - don't have any contact with them etc. - how can you have a problem with them?

Get the hell out of Texas.

Not all of Texas is like this, just east, north, and some parts of west Texas where predominately white people live. There is pretty much two Texas', the south and southwest is totally different from the conservative parts. This is where its predominately Hispanic, where majority of peoples first language is spanish even for the gringos who have adopted aTejano culture, unlike Dixie Texas (east and north) where theres a lot of Racism and xenophobia for hispanics or any other race. The schools around the valley (south texas) teach kids in Spanish over English, where football is better than soccer, where the food is mixed with anglo and mexican food called texmex food. its like a blend of both anglo and mexican culture which results in a totally different country in the south.

That's the whole point. Give Texas back to Mexico.

Lets give it back to the people not the mexican government, those borders I am sure were set by the Spanish when they still ruled Mexico.

No I think you missed my point. Southern Texas would not fit in right with Mexico even though they're culturally alike, just like they're alike with the anglo culture, but still their not the same. Tejano culture is the result of the mixing of both anglo and mexican culture. The food isn't Mexican food, its Tex-Mex, American Football is more popular than Soccer which is the preffered sport in Mexico. Texas also has its own music called Tejano music which is heavilly influenced by the accordian which was bought by the Germans and Czech immigrants that settled in Central and South Texas in early 19th century. This is the Tejano culture which is a melting pot that stretches from San Antonio to the Rio Grande You see, I think this should be a model to follow for the mixing of cultures that will occur in the future.

Shouldn't this read, "Islamic neighborhoods moving; non-Muslims celebrate"?

No, only the whites are celebrating. Our black neighbors and the Vietnamese neighbors havent voiced an opinion on it.

Yeah, I can vouch for South Texas. It is nothing like the rest of Texas. Hell, you don't even have to know anything about the demographics to see this. Just look at election maps. See that big blue Democrat area? That's us. We're mainly Hispanics down here, and as such, there's not much in the way of overt racism.

Also, having lived in Mexico, I can also vouch for the fact that the culture here is unique. It is a blend of many cultures at a crossroads, and this region is brimming with history, both of oppression and struggle.
