God bless former USSR leader Gorbachev. He was a true hero of the working class ! Sucks that Yeltsin destroyed his Glasnost and Perestroika. Gorbachev had the heart to make the USSR a true workers' state !

There are some people in history I really hate.
Some of them are:
Hitler
Truman
Reagan
Thatcher
Kennedy
Nixon
Yeltsin
Gorbachev

Gorbachev was a traitor to Socialism, a capitalist mercenary who infiltrated the highest office of the USSR, and then destoyed from the inside with his politics of betrayal and cexploitation, which he called "glasnost and perestroika".
Gorbachev was a close friend to Reagan, Thatcher and Yeltsin, all three of them filthy capitalists of the worst kind.
He was the main reason of the USSR's collapse.

It would be cool to have a proper debate about Gorbachev, like we get with Stalin.

Huh? Gorbachev? I thought all the trolls who visit us on this forum thought that the USSR was controlled by those darn' scheming Jews?

Maybe we should give him a fair chance before ban? He might not know that Gorbachev gave the final blow to the Soviet Union.

Or was it economic waste and political bankruptcy? Hmm...

Given that you're presumably an anti-revisionist what makes Gorbachev any worse than Kruschev or Comrade Eyebrows? If you want to assign blame for the final collapse of the USSR it seems to me that Yeltsin was most responsible for the coup whilst Gorby was just shuffling the deckchairs on the Titanic by the time he took power

Didn't he say, after the Soviet collapse, that his goal was always to end Communism in Russia, which contradicts what he said at some point in the 80s about not wanting to end it.

So I'm with the majority on this one.

Gorbachev wasn't "shuffling deckcharis" when he let the imperialists take over East Germany without condition. He wasn't inactive when he permitted private property and established the fundamentals of a market economy with perestroika. He also had the ability to challenge (and crush) Yeltsin and his capitalist cronies, but he didn't, and instead did nothing as Yeltsin pushed his agenda further and further.

Gorbachev didn't shuffle anything, he made extremely important decisions which not only facilitated Yeltsin's takeover, but also directly undermined socialism across Eastern Europe. He actively used his position to "reform" socialism to the point of complete destruction.
