>From a guy named Mike at the Palestine Children's Welfare Fund:
I too called the "Christian Zionists" at the "Wings of Eagles" (1-800-710-2211)...A man with a very thick accent answered me with "
Hello, how would you like your name to appear on the envelope? I took the liberty of lying to this man about my religion and here's my conversation:
Me: "Hi, my name is Mike. God bless you for your work on behalf of Christ. I want to know, can I also help a displaced Palestinian Christian to get back to his home in Palestine?
Man: Let me check on this sir (few moments pause) No sir, we are only working to bring Jews from Russia to Israel at this time. For your gift of $350, we can fly one Jew from Russia to his ancestral homeland of Israel. You will be blessed.
Me: Yes, I know that, BUT, I am a born again Christian and I want to also help the Christian Palestinians get back home. I mean after all, weren't they the original Christians? This would be the Christian thing to do, wouldn't it?
Man: I don't know about that. Currently we are only working on bringing the Jews home to Israel.
Me: I realize that, but, why can't we also help the Palestinian Christians?
Man: Sir, I can only tell you about our current campaign.
Me: Ok! Ok! Now I want to tell you something. I am an loyal listener to the reverends Robertson and Falwell, I am also a born again Christian. We, as born again Christians, believe that the Jews of the world must
all be made to ingather into Israel. Then we can hasten the second coming of the Messiah and thus in the ensuing Armageddon, the majority of the Jews will be destroyed and the rest will convert to Christianity.
Is this what your organization is striving for?
Man: I don't know, let me check.(pause).I don't know about that sir. We are just trying to get as many Jews out of Russia and into Israel as possible. This is a humanitarian thing.
Me: What kind of an organization are you?
Man: We are a Christian organization.
Me: Well I need to know if my contribution will help hasten the coming Armageddon. If so, then I am all for it.
Man: Let me check.(lengthy pause). I don't have an answer for you.
Me: Well how do you expect me to send you my money? After all, we all want the Messiah to come as fast as possible, don't we? Will my money help to do that?
Man: Sir, I don't know, I am just answering the phones.
Me: Do you believe in the Messiah and Armageddon?
Man: No sir, I am a Buddhist! I am just here for the money.
With that, we both laughed and he gave me the web site for their organization. http://www.ifcj.org
Before I hung up.
It says on the site that they collected $22 million dollars in the year 2001 for their Wings program. $22 million divided by $350 (per person) they were responsible for bringing approximately 63,000 Russian Jews to Israel.
