lol. I know it's part of the bible belt but i don't think incest country stretches as far west as utah.

Most mormons i've encountered are middle class, well groomed, suit wearing nuclear family defenders.

Indeed, my craply accented stuff there was a reference to the OP's Texaness and the possible views a Texan may hold against Mormons (not that this guy necessarily does). :D

Indeed Mormons have designated Chorley, Lancs as their Salt Lake City in the UK http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7227889.stm.

Poor guys really, they look so repressed.

Don't diss Texas, it's not perfect but with Austin and Dallas atleast we're tryin:tt2:

As a minority myself I've got nothing against the Mormons, they've got drive I'll say that.

It's not perfect but it's pretty good, it just tends to have some very crazy people in it is all, like anywhere really except just a bit more specifically crazy.

Great! After all, who cares about opposing the existence of religion if it's not reactionary?

Great! After all, who cares about opposing the existence of religion if it's not reactionary?

How about the fact that it's a totally wrong-headed view of the world? Religious belief promotes magical thinking and suppresses (or attempts to suppress) critical thinking.

And that's reflected in the content of the websites given. I mean seriously, consulting the Book of Mormon as anything other than the work of a con-man?

And I'm not surprised at all that the other two are utterly reformist. I'm sorry, I thought these were revolutionaries you were talking about?

Suppresses critical thinking? How quickly you forget the Reformation.

If it moves them to fight for social justice then let them consult it.

Reform is the cousin of revolt. The one makes the other more possible.
