Making a Hammer and Sickle armband.

What's the best way to go about this?

1) Get some red cloth from a fabric store. Perhaps a cotton/spandex blend that's slightly stretchy would make a better fit

2a) Cut out a hammer + sickle shape in your desired color of cloth and stitch/glue it on
2b) Print out a basic hammer + sickle shape from the internet, mount it on some construction paper so it's a bit thicker (or just print it on your choice of colored construction paper) and glue it on
2c) Draw it on with a paint pen

Actually, before the nazis got in german communists also used to wear them. It was probably us the nazis stole it off. Would be quite cool if we could reclaim the symbol.

Its been extensively used by communist movements, sometimes in wildly differing circumstances, before and after Hitler. For example, in Germany it was often worn by both the Spartikists and later GDR soldiers/police

The difference with the Nazi and Nazbol apparel, aside from the differing symbols, is the lack of a white circular background on the communist armbands

Get a tatoo of a hammer and sickle instead. Much longer lasting than an armband and the chicks will think you are completely wicked-bad.

Ok, ok. Here's some actual advice.

1) Get red armband
2) Use freezer paper and cut out a hammer and sickle in it (use an exacto-knife and put an image of a H&S behind the freezer paper)
3) Iron the hammer and sickle freezer paper stencil to the armband (make sure the shiny side is down)
4) Fill in the stencil with acrylic paint
5) Wait about a day for paint to dry, do another coat if necessary (if you do another wait another day)
6) After all the paint is dry, remove the freezer paper.

That's how I make shirts and that's how I decorated my sweatshirt, so it would probably work on an armband.

Damn that stuff is overexpensive. If you ever get to go to Eastern Europe you can find heaps of this stuff (nearly all of them fake ofcourse but who cares?) for a much lower price
