Nikolai Bukharin. Member of the left-communists. He was opposed to the Brest-Litovsk Treaty and was even urged by some to have Lenin arrested for signing the treaty, though he opposed the idea. He was eventually purged in the Moscow Trials on what many consider outrageous and baseless charges. Some of his major writings include Historical Materialism, Economics of the Transitional Period, Imperialism and the World Economy, and The ABC of Communism (with Preobrazhensky).
